By taking advantage of an unused, enclosed back porch, this kitchen was able to literally double in size and function. The floor plan was completely rearranged, and the original opening to the dining area was eliminated through engineering, making plenty of counter space and storage possible. New divided-lite windows, a French door, and warm oak flooring were installed to match the originals elsewhere in the home. The dramatic color palette is inspired by original fireplace tile, and is both lively and authentic to the period.
