This 1960 addition to an original 1923 Tudor-revival sorority house was long overdue for a comprehensive update. The challenge was to address the contemporary needs of the members creatively while respecting the timeless authenticity of a vintage home from yesteryear. The sorority’s sense of tradition and history is reflected in period-inspired details, such as box-beamed ceilings, paneled wainscoting, real oak floors, custom reproduction mouldings, subway tile, and un-lacquered brass hardware. Modern drum lights, quartz counters, wool rugs and linen curtains with trellis embroidery give the room a fresh look.
