Thanks to Deb’s unlimited patience, her impeccable taste, and her sound advice, we now have a house with a new lease on life. With an interior makeover that touched every room in the house, Deb managed to keep the ball rolling from initial design, through product selection, project management, and a bit of marriage counseling. We could not have done it without her.

Deb’s solution to our problematic under-the-stairs storage area was nothing less than phenomenal. Deb converted this formerly wasted space to a combination of pullout drawers and display cases—now the focal point of our kitchen! Deb’s attention to detail and knowledge of period design elements made our 1920s kitchen remodel a great success. In addition to producing a highly satisfactory outcome, her ability to coordinate with contractors made the remodeling process easy … and everything was completed right on schedule!
We love Deb sooooooo MUCH!!!!

We used Deb Kadas for our recently completed kitchen/family room remodel. Using thoughtful and creative design ideas, Deb helped us with every aspect of the job, from top to bottom. Her good sense of humor and coolness under pressure made her easy to work with, so we look forward to using her again when we remodel our bathrooms. We would recommend Deb Kadas for anyone. We had a completely positive experience.

My experience with Deb was fantastic! She really listened to our wants, needs, and concerns to create a beautiful and functional kitchen design. She converted a very difficult space (every wall has a window, door, or both) that felt small, dark, and cramped, into something that feels spacious, light and happy. Deb is very personable and professional. She not only listened to my design and aesthetic ideas but incorporated many of them. I especially appreciated her attention to detail. Deb made sure that what was most important to my husband and me became reality.

As the owners of a 1926 Craftsman-style home in the College Hill neighborhood, we have worked with Deb on a number of projects. My husband does virtually all of the work on these projects himself and Deb has been wonderful about working with him directly. She provides detailed, accurate drawings that are easy for the builder to execute. She is able to implement a historical feel while at the same time incorporating modern comfort and convenience.
Deb designed a beautiful tile motif for our fireplace and mantel, including help selecting colors and materials. She also designed a full bathroom in our basement, including tile layout, vanity, and floor plan. She researched and helped us select fixtures, including a fabulous showerhead. Finally, she worked with us to design bookshelves and cabinets in our basement family room. She delivered plans on time, incorporated all of our suggestions, and was professional and detail oriented. We always felt like our project was a priority for her and that our home was her favorite. We loved that she would stop by to check on the project as it progressed and provided feedback and suggestions.
All of the projects have stood the test of time in that we continue, even years later, to be pleased with them.

Deb Kadas was a pleasure to work with for our multiple-bathroom remodel project in a historic home. She is one of the most organized people we have ever met! She is knowledgeable, very detail oriented, and passionate about serving her clients. Throughout our project, she produced beautiful floor plans and elevation drawings by hand. She has a good working relationship with Corvallis-area contractors. She sets a realistic schedule and then sticks to this. Our remodel proceeded very smoothly, with no unpleasant surprises. We are looking forward to working with Deb again in the future for a kitchen remodel project.

Deb Kadas is by far the best designer we have ever worked with. We could not have wished for better results and we enjoyed every step of the design process. Her detailed knowledge, thoroughness, punctuality, sparkling optimism, and exclusive taste helped us make the best decisions. No selling pressure, flexibility, and financial consciousness were much appreciated bonuses of working with Deb. She is a treasure and we are so fortunate to have met her. Thank you!
— Rich and Tani Sandler
Deb Kadas exceeded our expectations for what a designer should be. Not only did she have great big-picture ideas for ways to redesign our basement space, she also considered every detail and worked closely with our contractor to make sure that nothing fell through the cracks. Her easygoing but focused approach kept us calm during what could have been a very stressful time. We couldn’t be happier with the results!
— David and Sarah Ehlers
Deb remodeled two bathrooms for our family in 2007, and we were beyond pleased with the final product. She was great to work with and brought our ideas to life. She is extremely creative and has a great eye for colors. We will be using Deb when we build our new home in Kings Valley.
— Denny Weber and Tom Watts
Deb Kadas is wonderful! We have worked three times with Deb, and each time she took everything we told her—what we had in mind or wanted—and produced something better than we had imagined. Her research skills are indispensable and she is particularly careful about coordinating the details. She recognizes how details (trim work, cabinetry, etc.) can be extended through the house, and the continuity that produces is tremendous. I do not think we could have accomplished half of what we did without her. Her friendly, helpful, committed manner was essential for the two of us with full-time jobs outside the home.
Deb took the time to listen carefully and went out of her way to help us, by meeting in the evenings at our home, usually with samples of hardware, paint, tile, drawings, etc. Deb genuinely cares about her clients and their projects. She presents multiple options and is absolutely willing to make recommendations, as well as to defer to client preferences. She has such expertise that she can take ideas and incorporate all the design, drawings, and details to turn those ideas into remarkable reality. We very much enjoyed working with her.
Our one regret is that we cannot think of something else to improve yet; we would very much like to work with her again.
— Jim and Martha Morris
We initially asked Deb to make suggestions for a complete overhaul of our kitchen. We thought we knew what we wanted and were amazed at her new ideas which we had never thought of. She knows the materials, the contractors, who has what, and who does what the best. She knows what is possible and what is doable and the difference between the two. She listens. We came back twice more, once for a bath and again for a basement. She is the best.
— Paul and Vreneli Farber
We thought about remodeling our kitchen for many years, and we spoke with a number of builders and planners. Unfortunately, we weren’t satisfied with any plans that we or others came up with until we had Deb look at our kitchen, discuss our needs, desires, and budget.
She has an ability to listen carefully and understand what people want, and she also was quick to see from other parts of our house what our tastes are. She came up with a design that maintained the integrity of the house, met our wishes for more storage and light, and solved a number of problems. She guided us through numerous choices with excellent suggestions, acquainting us with products and vendors we never knew of before. She saved us from some serious mistakes and steered us to some tile and wood for cabinets that made the kitchen truly a beautiful room, one that enhanced the space without sacrificing functionality. With regard to the cabinets, it was her tenacity and persistence that got us what we wanted, even though we had been told that the type of wood we had chosen was not available locally.
Our old kitchen “worked,” but she made it more functional. She also convinced us that by modifying our windows we could “bring the yard” into the kitchen, and she was SO right—now we enjoy our landscaping all day, and instead of a dark and dreary workspace, we have a light and delightful room. The builder she recommended was a perfect fit for us, and she worked with him and his subcontractors to make improvements over the original plan. We now have a kitchen that feels like “us,” and two years later still delights us whenever we enter it. Equally important, it is a kitchen that we could afford.
— Elena Gorman
Deb Kadas is an artist! We contracted her to design a period-appropriate bathroom remodel in our 1929 English revival home last year. With her expertise in this style period and her attention to detail, she designed a period-perfect showpiece! She listens to her clients; she’s open to input and incredibly patient. She presented several excellent design options, hand drawn and incredibly detailed to give the best possible options and use of space. I was completely awed by her concepts and creativity. She doesn’t push her agenda but definitely guides her clients on the best possible choices.
I loved her unwavering enthusiasm throughout the process and her real connection to the project. Her projects are obviously very personal to her and she treated my home as if it were her own! The final product is a reflection of her dedication and artistry. I would never consider any other designer for my home “revival.”
— Roberta Sobotka
Deb Kadas’ expertise and methods were essential along our road to remodeling, and cleared the way to an attractive and functional space. We could rely on Deb for a stress-free planning process, precise and thoughtful design, ingenious solutions, sound products and materials advice, and positive collaboration. At many years after our project, we are still enjoying the result: an improved small kitchen, harmonious with the rest of our forties ranch house that looks—and works—like it “belongs.” Thank you, Deb!
